Our mission to help individuals and families in economically disadvantaged communities achieve independence and self-sufficiency.

Our Program is staffed by experienced professionals dedicated to helping you overcome addiction.

We combine evidence-based practices with personalized care to address the unique needs of each participant.

Our Westside Story

Campaign For A Drug Free Westside, Inc. was established in 1990 and is a community based social service nonprofit organization recognized at both the state and federal levels as a 501c (3) entity formed by a community based organizations that came together to address and find solutions to the substance use and other related social ills that plague our community. While supporting individuals struggling with substance use using the tools of a comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge out-reach prevention programs with options to combat the prevalence and devastation of substance use that continue to plaque our communities on our city streets of Chicago.

Accomplishments

  • Drug and Alcohol Drug Awareness Basketball League Award Crayons - A supportive program for high school students to be obedient, Nubian students.

  • Joy Program - A Youth program to create new opportunities to travel across the city and build relationships with people outside their current environment.

  • Job Readiness Workshop/Self-Management Skills/Effective Job Search/Marketing Yourself & Resume Writing/The Interview

  • Community Awarded Achievement Exelon Corporation Energy

  • Organized COVID-19 Health prevention for the community

  • Participated in the Columbus Park Annual Recovery Walk

  • Annual Coat Drives

  • Job Placement through Job volunteers with Andy Frain Security, NASCAR, Lollapalooza, Pitchfork, Allstate Arena, and Honey Ham.

Our Program Services

Comprehensive Assessment
We begin with a thorough assessment to understand your specific needs and create a personalized Peer-Based recovery Support Wellness plan.

Support Groups
Join our supportive community groups to share experiences, gain insights and build connections with other individuals on a similar path to recovery.

Peer-Based Recovery Support Services
Giving and receiving non paraprofessional, non-clinical assistance to achieve long term recovery from Substance use of drugs or alcohol, and in providing advocacy, mentoring and ethical responsibility education with the aid of a (CRSS) Certified Recovery Coach Specialist.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) referrals
We use approved programs from Department Human Services (DHS) Help manage withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Our CBT sessions help you understand and change through patterns that lead to substance use.

Job Placement
CFDFW provides job referrals, individualized supportive services, case management matching a client’s talent and interests to the right career.

Life Skills Training
Our classroom-based program is designed to prevent and reduce substance use & violence through activities & teaching strategies. Prevention and intervention classroom-based programs to reduce substances use &violence through cognitive behavioral skills that enhance self-esteem and decision-making.

Education Workshops
Build knowledge and mutual understanding as you progress on your journey and meeting goals to maintain sobriety way of life.

Community Reset Collaboration

Community Intervention: A service that occurs within the community rather than in a treatment setting. These services focus on the community and its residents and include crisis intervention, case finding to identify individuals in need of services, including those in reach, and outreach to targeted populations or individuals not admitted to treatment. Outreach is the encouragement, engagement, or re-engagement of at-risk individuals through community institutions such as churches, schools, job training, and medical treatment through Mutual of Understanding linkages and community engagement.
