Our Westside Story

Campaign For A Drug Free Westside, Inc. was established in 1990 and is a community based social service nonprofit organization recognized at both the state and federal levels as a 501c (3) entity formed by a community based organizations that came together to address and find solutions to the substance use and other related social ills that plague our community. While supporting individuals struggling with substance use using the tools of a comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge out-reach prevention programs with options to combat the prevalence and devastation of substance use that continue to plaque our communities on our city streets of Chicago.

Partners in our Community Reset Collaboration

  • Drug Awareness Basketball League for ages 12 and up sports and educational mentorship. Our goal is to reserve outlets for the youth through participation and volunteer work.

  • Youth workshop aligned under the leadership of DJ Kid’s and Campaign For A Drug Free Westside Inc. We strive for opportunities for children that are underserved communities and teach respect, enhance social skills and drug awareness. Through workshops Youth participants will gain new skills and social development through teamwork.

  • The organizers will document issues and build relationships in the neighborhoods through safer partnerships with local enforcements and block clubs. Door to Door one block at a time.

  • Program activities with class structure; provide participants with basic computer training, financial literacy and soft skills with interview techniques.

  • Our physical fitness and wellness program.

    • Discussion about chronic illness and help participants understand what chronic illnesses are and how they can manage them through Alternative Treatments and medication that can be disused with doctors.

    • Healthier Traditional Meals: Updated traditional African American meals to a healthier and still maintain cultural significance.

    • Encourage preventive Health check-ups.
